A six-day exploration on foot and by boat of the proposed Bob Marshall Great Wilderness (also named the Oswegatchie Great Wilderness) in Adirondack Park. The writer, John Davis, traversed the wilds lying between Old Forge and Tupper Lake, in what are now Pigeon Lake, Pepperbox, and Five Ponds Wilderness and nearby Wild Forests.
